WireView GPU Pro
Attention! Important Compatibility Notice:
The 90° WireView Pro is not compatible with all graphics card models and series due to its design. This is influenced by the size of various cooler designs and the position of the 12VHPWR connector on the GPU's PCB. These factors combined may make the use of the 90° WireView Pro impossible. This must also be considered when switching to a water block cooling solution.

Free 90° WireView Pro: Compatibility Verification & List Expansion
Testing all available graphics cards with a 12VHPWR connector is challenging for a manufacturer like Thermal Grizzly. To expand and maintain an extensive 90° WireView Pro compatibility list, we are reaching out to the PC hardware community.
If you own a graphics card that is not yet listed in the compatibility list and are unsure whether the 90° WireView Pro will fit, you can receive a free unit for compatibility testing:
Step 1: Check whether your graphics card is already listed in the compatibility list.
Step 2: Review the dimensions of the 90° WireView Pro (available under the Downloads tab).
Step 3: Independently measure the relevant areas of your graphics card.
- If you are unsure whether the 90° WireView Pro fits, or
- If you are certain that the 90° WireView Pro will fit, proceed to Step 4.
Step 4: Contact TG Customer Service to receive additional information about the next steps.
Product description:
The 90° WireView Pro GPU is a device for measuring the power consumption of graphics cards. Developed in collaboration with Jon "elmor" Sandström, the 90° WireView Pro GPU connects to the 12VHPWR power connector of the graphics card and is linked to the power supply via the power cable. Power consumption data is displayed on an OLED screen. The Pro version features connector detection and temperature sensors, as well as a buzzer that emits an acoustic warning signal when the adjustable temperature and current threshold is exceeded, or when a cable is improperly connected or of the wrong specification.
The 90° version of the WireView Pro GPU functions as a 90° adapter, allowing the PSU connection cable (when the GPU is horizontally mounted) to be routed downward towards the case floor. Previous versions used a U-shaped adapter, where the power cable runs over the GPU’s backplate.
- OLED display
- Power consumption measurement
- Power consumption recording
- Internal temperature sensors at power connectors
- External temperature sensors
- Pin detection for sensor pin connectors
- Alarm function
- Optimized cable routing
The 90° WireView Pro GPU enables the measurement of graphics card power consumption through the 12VHPWR power connector and records the data to determine energy usage. These readings can be used to calculate GPU power costs or compare power consumption across different graphics cards. A special measurement cycle of the last 60 seconds allows for a quick and convenient display of power consumption, making it ideal for hardware reviews. Additionally, GPU power consumption can be tracked over time or during specific workloads. The device also detects power peaks, which can occur during operation with high-end graphics cards.
With connector detection, temperature sensors, and an acoustic alarm, the Pro version includes additional safety features. The connector detection of the 90° WireView Pro GPU determines whether a 150W, 300W, 450W, or 600W power cable is in use. It is important to note that the 90° WireView Pro GPU only measures power consumption via the power connector and does not account for additional power drawn through the PCIe slot. If an incorrect cable is used or a loose connection is detected, an alarm will sound.
Two temperature sensors located on the PCB at the power connectors monitor the temperatures at the power input. Up to 600W of power can flow through these connectors, causing significant heat buildup at the connectors and PCB. If a preset temperature threshold is exceeded, an acoustic alarm is triggered. Additionally, two external temperature sensors (10K NTC) can be connected via cables. Two sensors with cable lengths of 5 cm and 20 cm are included in the package. The alarm can also be triggered if the adjustable current limit (amperage) is exceeded.
The 90° WireView Pro GPU displays measured values on the OLED screen. A button allows users to switch between displayed values, including:
- Current power consumption in watts (W)
- Current voltage in volts (V) and current in amperes (A)
- Minimum and maximum power consumption in watts (W)
- Average power consumption over 60 seconds (RAVG in W) and total energy consumption (E in WH)
- Measured temperatures from each temperature sensor (°C)
The 90° WireView Pro GPU is available with the 12VHPWR 16-pin power connector (4x sensor + 12x power/ground) in two versions: "Normal" (N) and "Reverse" (R):
- If the GPU's power connector has the four sensor pins positioned between the PCB and the 12 power pins, the "N" version is required (PCB - 4x sensor pin - 12x power pins).
- If the GPU's power connector has the 12 power pins positioned between the PCB and the four sensor pins, the "R" version is required (PCB - 12x power pins - 4x sensor pin).
Note:
When using the 12VHPWR adapter, ensure that each of the three or four 8-pin PCIe connectors is connected to the PSU via separate 8-pin PCIe cables.
Using splitters (Y-cables) is strongly discouraged!
Warning: Risk of Injury!
Depending on the graphics card in use, particularly with the GeForce RTX 5090, up to 575W of power can flow through the WireView connectors.
The heat generated can raise the PCB temperature at the WireView connector to 60°C on air-cooled GPUs.
For water-cooled GPUs without airflow, the PCB temperature of the WireView can reach up to 100°C!
The WireView casing should not be touched during operation. After shutting down the system, allow the WireView to cool before handling it.
